Preparations for the coming Modoc Northern
In the weeks in advance of a new railroad taking over (by leasing) the Union Pacific's Alturas branch line (the only part of the former Southern Pacific's Modoc line still in existence as a railroad), UP sent a cleanup train down the line to retrieve freight cars which had been stored on the line for years.
The following photos were taken prior to and during UP's clean-up stage.

Stuckel was a station location on the Southern Pacific. All that remains there today are two sidings and a potato shed.
