MNRR: Scenes around Tule Lake Yard
July 3-8, 2006
It was the week of the 4th of July. Not being re-married yet, and having no pressing need to stay home every day, I wandered about a bit and scoped out the local railroad scene. Tule Lake Yard in Tulelake, California (map location), was now a regular place for me to check out.
It was a quiet week on the Modoc Northern. The 7780 was down for repairs; something about a bearing and a shaft that needed to be replaced, or maybe it was its air compressor, I don't recall now in 2020, but whatever was taken out of it required the radiators to be removed, and it was placed on a pallet and covered with an orange tarp to be shipped off somewhere for repair or replacement.
