Photos taken along the line: The End of the Modoc Northern

The Final Bell
In May, 2009, MNRR's stable of power (less the 1011, which is stranded in Canby with a problem which prohibits her from rolling) is tied down for the last time in Tulelake.  Union Pacific has pulled the plug on the MNRR's lease and in this picture is running the line with their own train in this May 13 view.

December 19, 2014: Thanks to an email I received this afternoon from David Anzur, I learned that the 651 was rumored to be in KFalls at 0700 this morning. I got the email at 1630 and shot down to the yard as quick as I could. I found both the 650 and the 651 sitting in the yard, in a perfect spot to be able to photograph them. Unfortunately, lighting wasn't good at all that late on a very overcast afternoon and all I had was my lousy smartphone for a camera, so the shots are quite disappointing to me... but sometimes I gotta be thankful for even getting a picture at all!
